Education of the Holy Quran is made compulsory in schools of Punjab

Directorate of Public Instruction (EE) Punjab, Lahore has issued the teaching of Holy Quran as a compulsory subject in schools of Punjab on 30th December 2022. All government and private schools will follow the policy of teaching the Holy Quran.

The subject “TEvery part of the Holy QuranIt has been introduced as a compulsory subject in all government and private schools since 2018. The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has also released the Scheme of Studies regarding the teaching of the Holy Quran. This subject is now compulsory in 2021 under the amended Act 2018 for classes 1 to 12 in primary, elementary, high and higher secondary level schools.

Certain necessary instructions and guidelines regarding the teaching of “Holy Quran” have been issued in the field from time to time to ensure their implementation in true spirit. It is the responsibility of all heads of institutions, supervisory staff and district education authorities to fully implement the policies of the School Education Department and ensure that regular classes/periods of the compulsory subject “Education of Holy Quran” are observed. have been.
