According to the latest notification, Punjab Teaching Union (PTU) has issued a notification to increase the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff. The PTU made the decision while talking to media in Lahore. The PTU leadership finalizes the proposal in this regard following the suggestions of others. Copies of the proposal were sent to the Prime Minister, Federal Minister for Finance, Chief Minister and Secretary Finance, Punjab.
PTU Central President Chaudhry Sarfraz said that government employees are the backbone of the system but they are suffering from severe financial crisis. General Secretary Rana Liaqat said that government employees were dying of hunger because their salaries were much lower than the skyrocketing inflation.
